Description

Description The ACT Initiative measures a company's alignment with a future low-carbon world. All information gathered is consolidated into a rating, which provides an overall metric of the low-carbon alignment for a company.
Objectives The goal is to drive action by companies and encourage businesses to move to a well below

2°C compatible pathway.

Activities Have developed Methodologies for Automobile transportation, Electric Utilities, The Retail sector, and the Building sector (both Construction and Real Estate).

Indicators
Goals Methodologies are developed for companies to measure their level of ambition of the climate strategy is analysed against the low-carbon benchmark relevant for the company, as well as the actions that the company effectively takes in response to this strategy.
Comments on indicators and goals Companies are assessed using the following framework:

1. What is the company planning to do? 2. How is the company planning to get there? 3. What is the company doing at present? 4. What has the company done in the recent past? 5. How do all these plans and actions fit together?

Based on the assessment an ACT rating is made that comprise: a) A performance score from 1 (lowest) to 20 (highest), b) A narrative score from E (lowest) to A (highest), c) A trend score as either "+" for improving, "-" for worsening, and "=" for stable. The highest possible score is therefore:20,A,+
